Inside layout from Larry Towell’s The World From My Front Porch, 2009—hands down my favorite of his many endeavours. It’s a collection produced over twenty years that weaves together the themes of homeland and belonging, and a romantic expression of the world seen from the family home’s viewpoint. It’s a photo essay that deals with his Arcadian heritage, the family farm he sharecrops in Ontario, and the beauty of the day to day rambling. It’s also illustrated with a whole host of archival photos and historical artifacts.
Cannot recommend it enough.
